This Fall, SSP Seniors were given a unique and incredible scholarship opportunity that will help them continue to realize their full potential after graduating from high school.
The Peter M. Flanigan Scholarship was established this year with generous funding from the Kovner Foundation in honor of the late founder of Student Sponsor Partners, Peter Flanigan. The scholarship is geared towards SSP high school seniors with outstanding academic records and achievements. This year’s applicants were identified with the help of SSP’s incredible School Coordinators and were invited to apply using a specially constructed online application and essay portion. Following this competitive and multi-stage application process, three top-performing seniors were named Flanigan Scholars:
Renai Foster (The Mary Louis Academy)
Ashley Gonzalez-Melo (St. Raymond Academy)
Albert Peraza (Mount St. Michael Academy)
These three hard-working students will receive up to $10,000 per year in scholarship funding for each year of undergraduate study. In addition to the generous scholarship, Flanigan scholars will also be given expert college advising from R&R Education Consultants. Roger Lehecka and Ria M. Coyne of R&R bring a deep knowledge of the application process which will no doubt set our scholars on the path to a great college experience.
SSP would like to take a moment to congratulate our Flanigan scholars for their hard work as well as the other students who applied. They are a true testament to the work that our sponsors, mentors, and partner schools do each day as well as the amazing students that we accept.
