On the evening of May 29, digital design agency Huge hosted a group of 20 mentors and students for a career orientation in digital design and computer programming. Several students who attended are part of SSP’s new College Readiness Pilot Program.

To start off the event, the group was given a tour of the Huge’s DUMBO offices, which included a video production studio, an in-house Genius Bar, and conference rooms with names like “Bieber” and “Britney & Justin”.

Jason Whiting (Managing Director, Client Services) spoke to the students about Huge’s process for creating and implementing web content, mobile applications, and social media for its clients. He offered great insight into how the students can begin preparing now for careers in digital advertising by honing their writing skills, familiarizing themselves with computer programming, and building a diverse and interesting professional background.
