On February 11th, Valerie Rowe (SSP Board Member) hosted many of the students she is funding in the SSP class of 2015 at the National Museum of the American Indian. As a member of the board for the NMAI, Valerie wanted the SSP students to experience a great cultural museum that most of them had never been to or heard of.
The students were taken on a private tour of the museum and some of the exhibits, and they enjoyed learning more about American Indians and their history and culture. They also had time to interact with Valerie and thank her for her incredible generosity.
Valerie and her husband Jack donated $1 million to Student Sponsor Partners in 2011, and with that gift they are currently funding the education of 61 students in the class of 2015. The students are at a number of the SSP partner schools across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
