It has been a great summer at Student Sponsor Partners filled with Summer Readiness Programs for the new SSP ninth graders and preparing for the year ahead, and it’s hard to believe that the new year is finally here!

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time at SSP–new SSP students go to their first days of school at their new partner schools, excited to meet their mentors for the first time at the SSP Opening Dinners; returning students start classes again, one grade and one step closer to receiving their high school diplomas; and the SSP class of 2012, who celebrated four years of hard work at their graduations last year, will be starting their first days of college. (One of our graduates, Krystal Diaz ’12, was recently profiled as a new freshman at Manhattan College.)

We have a lot to look forward to in the 2012-2013 school year, too. With great mentor/student events like sports games and Broadway shows, the Annual Ice Skating party and Softball Picnic, to the Fall Benefit coming up on October 25th– there will be a lot of opportunities to support SSP and our students.
