Dr. Valerie Rowe, SSP Board Member, recently announced that she is donating $1 million to SSP to fund 61 students over 4 years.
In April, Valerie and her husband Jack Rowe hosted the SSP Graduation Reception for senior students and their mentors at their home. Witnessing the SSP seniors so close to achieving their goal of graduating from high school with a quality education—something that would not have been possible without SSP—Valerie was inspired to make the donation. “I am an educator, and my husband Jack received the benefits of scholarships throughout his academic career,” she said.
Sponsoring SSP students opens up opportunities that would have been unimaginable for these students—it changes their lives. With Valerie’s incredible generosity and dedication to SSP’s mission, the organization is able to boast it’s largest entering class in history this fall, and we look forward to helping even more students receive a quality education.
Valerie has been honored in the Wall Street Journal as Donor of the Day on July 18, 2011.
