SSP is excited to launch our College Readiness Program today at Clifford Chance. The pilot group includes students who will receive a broader range of services to include greater academic support and preparation for post-secondary education, with the hopes of improving post-secondary matriculation and graduation outcomes.
As part of the pilot, each student will be offered four years of high school tuition, an extended mentoring experience to last through their first year of college, and four year of supplementary experiences including financial literacy for the parent and student, academic tutoring when needed, FAFSA and other and other financial aid counseling, complete understanding of the ramifications of post-high school debt, essay and college application assistance and an understanding of junior college and vocational opportunities as an alternative to college.
This group will mark SSP’s first foray into exposing students and parent to college and work force preparation from the first day of high school. We are thrilled to welcome our College Readiness Pilot group, their parents, and their mentors to this afternoon’s orientation event.
