Partnering with students to reach their potential.
Student Sponsor Partners addresses the high school dropout crisis in New York City by providing low-income students with a high school education. All SSP® students are paired with sponsors who offer financial support and mentors who offer one-to-one mentoring, thus making a meaningful impact on their lives.
Sponsors and mentors are the backbone of Student Sponsor Partners’ success. Through financial support and one-to-one mentoring, sponsors and mentors directly impact the lives of under-served students in New York City.
How can I support an SSP student?
One of the many ways you can support a student is through sponsorship where you partially or fully fund the tuition for one or more students. Without the generous support of sponsors, SSP students would not have the opportunity to attend a quality, non-public high school where their chances of graduating are over 25% greater than in public schools. Whichever way you choose to get involved, you are forever changing the life of an under-served New York City student:
Sponsor
Sponsors fund all or part of the cost of their student’s tuition. The average SSP tuition is $4,100/year. The sponsor financial commitment is flexible and all sponsor contributions are greatly appreciated and are applied directly to fund their student’s tuition. Sponsors who are unable to make the time commitment to mentor are paired with mentors who contribute their time.
Sponsor + Mentor
Many of Student Sponsor Partners’ sponsors also choose to mentor a student. These sponsors support their student financially and mentor the student. Sponsors who mentor are asked to meet with their student 3-6 times each year, and maintain monthly contact by phone or email. They may attend SSP-organized events throughout the year with their student or they may meet with their students on their own– the mentoring commitment is flexible.
